Photo uploads, AI design & your free allowance
This notice explains how photos are handled in the umbrella designer. AI photo design starts with an image you upload. You can also design and order using your original photo.
Optional photo enhancement is currently unavailable. The original-photo design and ordering path remains available.
Choose what happens to your photo
When AI photo design is available, it runs only after you choose a processing option, accept the processing notice, and click its action button. We send a copy of that photo to OpenAI to improve clarity or refine color and lighting according to your chosen option. Simply choosing a file does not authorize a processing request.
- Enhance: improve technical clarity and reduce noise or compression artifacts.
- Beautify: gently refine the uploaded photo’s colors and lighting while aiming to keep its subjects and composition.
The processing copy is converted to PNG and unnecessary image metadata is removed. Your original upload is kept separately. Enhancement may change fine details; compare the candidate with the original, especially faces, pet markings, logos, and text. You decide which version to use.
Your account, email verification, and free results
When AI design is enabled, sign in and verify your account email to use the free allowance. The verification email contains a link valid for 30 minutes, which must be opened while signed in to the same account. Using your original photo does not require an AI allowance.
The current allowance is 3 successful AI results per verified account. A successful candidate uses one result even if you choose the original photo instead. Failed processing does not use a result; a pending request may temporarily reserve one while it is processed.
Each eligible paid custom umbrella order placed while signed in restores your allowance to 3. This is a reset to that amount, not an addition: unused results do not accumulate. Guest orders and unpaid or pending orders do not grant a refill. Cash-on-delivery, bank-transfer, and cheque orders require recorded payment and merchant completion before they qualify.
If the most recent order that restored your allowance is canceled or fully refunded, its unused refill is removed. A repeated payment update does not grant the same order’s refill again. The designer shows your current remaining allowance before processing.
Temporary enhancement files
Temporary originals and enhancement candidates expire 24 hours after the task starts and are no longer available through the enhancement service after expiry. Expired files are removed by a scheduled cleanup that runs hourly when the site scheduler runs. Physical deletion can occur later if the scheduler is delayed.
You can use the designer’s delete control to remove a temporary enhancement task once processing has stopped. This removes its staged original, processing copy, and candidate. It does not delete the photo on your own device or files already saved to a cart or order.
Files saved with a cart or order
When you save a design for purchase, the original artwork, selected version, digital umbrella preview, and design choices can be stored privately with the cart and order for fulfillment and support. These order files do not use the temporary enhancement service’s 24-hour expiry and are not automatically deleted by that cleanup.
To request removal of saved cart or order artwork, use our contact page and provide your order reference if you have one. We will review the request against the current order and any recordkeeping requirements. Do not send passwords or payment details.
OpenAI processing and retention
OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default. Its default abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days, with possible legal or safety exceptions. Deleting a temporary task from this website does not delete provider records. See OpenAI’s API data controls for its current terms.
Usage records
The enhancement service records task status, request identifiers, processing time, and usage or cost information to enforce limits and diagnose failures. Photos, filenames, names, and image contents are not included in our funnel analytics events.
Your store account email is used for verification. A separate private allowance record uses hashed account, order, and email references, with verification status, allowance balances, and processing or payment markers. It contains no image data or API keys. These records are retained to administer allowances and prevent the same payment being counted twice; they do not expire with the 24-hour temporary image files. Contact us to request review or deletion of account-related records.
